Aide financière aux études is sending documents you will need to file your 2008 income tax return (e.g. Relevé 1 or T4A tax slip, letter attesting to a payment to Aide financière aux études). If required, you will be able to provide those documents when you file your income tax return.
Aide financière aux études issued the following tax slips, based on the information in your file:
Over the course of the academic year, you receive all your financial assistance in the form of a loan. At the end of the academic year, after you have received the last installent of financial assistance and following verification of your income with Revenu Québec, the government repays the portion of your student loan that corresponds to your bursary. Specifically, the government repays that amount to your financial institution in a process called the loan-to-bursary conversion.
The amount of your Relevé 1 or T4A tax slip corresponds to the amount that was converted to a bursary during the year. It is possible that more than one conversion was performed over the course of a year.
The letter confirming the amount of interest accrued on your student debt that you paid in a year.
The letter confirming the amount of the bursary overpayment that you repaid over the course of a year.
If a tax-related document must be issued in your name for the current year, a tax duplicate will be available in your on-line student file under Tax duplicates. If there are no duplicates in your file, it is because no original document need be issued.
