Today, Aide financière aux études is sending students documents required for their 2011 income tax return (Relevé 1 or T4A tax slip, letter certifying a payment to Aide financière aux études). You will be able to provide these documents if required, when you file your tax return.
The following tax slips are provided by Aide financière aux études per the information in your file, as follows:
Relevé 1 and T4A Tax Slips (Employment and Other Income):
Your total financial assistance during the academic year is provided as a loan. At the end of the academic year, once you have received the last instalment of financial assistance and upon verification of your income with Revenu Québec, the government repays the portion of your student loan that corresponds to your bursary to your financial institution in a process called the "loan-to-bursary conversion."
The amount shown on your Relevé 1 or T4A tax slip corresponds to the amount that was converted to a bursary during the year. More than one conversion may have taken place during the calendar year.
Letter Attesting to Payment of Interest on Student Debt
This letter confirms the amount of accrued interest on your student debt that you paid during the year.
Letter Attesting to Repayment of a Bursary Overpayment
This letter confirms the amount of the bursary overpayment that you repaid during the year.
If a tax-related document in your name is required for the current year, a tax duplicate will be available in your on-line student file under the Tax duplicates tab. If there are no duplicates in your file, it means that no original document was issued.
