Access to your tax slips

Please note that from January 1 to 31, 2010, you will not be able to access the Tax duplicates section of your online student file. That section will be closed while we produce the documents you will need to file your 2009 income tax return. The Tax duplicates section allows students to consult and print, if applicable, duplicates of the documents they require to file their income tax return (Relevé 1 slip, T4A slip and letters attesting to a payment by Aide financière aux études).

Indexing of some allowable expenses

The amounts that Aide financière aux études recognizes for living expenses have been increased by 0.4% for the 2009-2010 award year. Note that if your application for financial assistance has already been processed, a new assessment will be performed between now and January 2010. Our Web site has been updated to take into account those new amounts.

The Explore Program offers you the opportunity to obtain a bursary to learn French or English in an immersion setting and to discover a region of Canada. Interested? Fill out the on-line bursary application today in the section On-Line Access to Your File! Fill out the Identification section, then click on the Explore forms tab. Then in the section Fill out a form, click on Bursary application. As soon as your application is sent, you can consult your on-line student file.

Confirmation of financial resources

If you have already sent the fall confirmation of your financial resources for 2009 and you receive a message from us asking you to do so, please disregard that message.

Please note, however, that as of today if you have not sent the fall confirmation of your financial resources, you must do so, even if your income has not changed.

It is not too late to send the fall confirmation of your financial resources for 2009.

If, as of September 24, 2009, you still had not sent the fall confirmation of your financial resources for 2009, you must do so, even if your income has not changed. If you do not send that confirmation, your financial assistance instalments will be suspended as of October. However, once you have provided the confirmation, those instalments are usually reinstated within a matter of days.

You can now fill out the Application for a Special Needs Allowance 2009-2010 (Adults) form. Under the menu Your On-Line Services, click on On-Line Access to Your File! or select the appropriate user category beneath it. Fill out the Identification section, then click on the Special needs forms tab. Then in the section Allowance for Special Needs Program 2009-2010, click on Application for allowance.

You can now fill out the 2009-2010 Loan for Part-Time Studies Web form. Under the menu Your On-Line Services, click on On-Line Access to Your File! and select your user category. Fill out the Identification section and click on the Part-time forms tab. In the 2009-2010 Loans Program section, follow the link to the Application for Financial Assistance.

2009-2010 Declaration of Change form
The 2009-2010 Declaration of Change form is now available. If you receive student financial assistance, you must inform us immediately of any change in your income or circumstances that occurs over the course of the year.

To update the information you provided in your Application for Financial Assistance, simply click on On-Line Access to Your File! under Your On-Line Services. Fill out the Identification section, then click on Full-time forms and Declaration of Change form.

The eligibility threshold for some programs and measures administered by Aide financière aux études has been increased to take into account the recent increase in the minimum wage, which rose from $8.50 to $9.00 an hour in Québec.

The May instalments of student financial assistance have been transferred to the financial institutions and your scheduled deposit will be made in your account on May 1 as usual.

Loans and Bursaries Program: direct deposit compulsory for persons with a major functional disability
If you are deemed to have a major functional disability under the Loans and Bursaries Program, your financial assistance is issued in the form of a bursary only. As of September 1, 2009, the only payment method available to you will be direct deposit.

In January, Aide financière aux études sent documents required to file your 2008 income tax return (e.g. Relevé 1 or T4A tax slip, letter attesting to a payment to Aide financière aux études). If you have not received any documents, it is because, according to your file, there were no loan-to-bursary conversions or repayments of a debt or a bursary overpayment in 2008.

Obtaining a tax duplicate via On-Line Access to Your File!
A new tab, Tax duplicates, is now displayed in the main menu of your on-line student file. With the click of a mouse, you can consult and print duplicates of documents you will need to file your income tax return.

You must provide your winter confirmation of your financial resources for 2008 no later than February 20, 2009, even if your income has not changed. Remember that you must inform us of any change in your circumstances over the course of the year that might affect the amount of financial assistance awarded to you.
