Allowance for Special Needs Program ― Youth
Preschools, elementary schools and secondary schools in the private sector
If your child has special needs that hinder his or her learning activities at home, attends preschool, elementary school or secondary school in the private sector and requires certain devices or adaptive equipment at home to pursue his or her studies, he or she could be eligible under the Allowance for Special Needs Program for Youth.
Please note that if your child attends a public sector school, you must contact the administration of that school directly for the necessary assistance.
Allowance for Special Needs Program ― Adults
Secondary schools, colleges and universities
If you have a major functional disability or another recognized disability, you are a full-time or part-time student at a recognized educational institution at the secondary school (vocational training or adult education), college or university level, and you require material resources, specialized services, paratransit services or a housing allowance to pursue your studies, you could be eligible under the Allowance for Special Needs Program for Adults.
