Declaration of Change

If you are the parent, spouse or sponsor of a student and are required to make a contribution, you must inform us whenever there is a change to your situation during the year. The change could affect the amount of financial assistance awarded to the student. 

Procedure

To make changes to your file, you need to use Online Services to fill out the Declaration of Change form.

Other corrections

You can ask us to correct your file if the amounts you received from Child assistance, the Canada Child Tax Benefit, the Universal Child Care Benefit and the Canada Tax Benefit are different from the amounts we calculated and added to your income in order to determine the amount of your contribution.

Procedure

To have the amounts of these benefits corrected in your file, you must send a written request, taking care to include your Social Insurance Number and the following documentation.

Child assistance

  • Annual notice of the refundable Child assistance tax credit covering the period from January to June of the preceding calendar year
  • Annual notice of the refundable Child assistance tax credit covering the period from July to December of the preceding calendar year

Canada Child Tax Benefit and Canada Tax Benefit

  • Canada Child Tax Benefit covering the period from January to June of the preceding calendar year
  • Canada Tax Benefit notice covering the period from July to December of the preceding calendar year

Universal Child Care Benefit

  • Universal Child Care Benefit notice (RC62 slip) covering the preceding calendar year
