Under the Loans and Bursaries Program and the Loans Program for Part-Time Studies, various measures have been put in place to enable you to repay your debt when your financial situation permits.
While you are studying, the government pays the interest on your student debt. One month after you have completed or withdrawn from your studies, the government ceases to pay the interest on your student debt and you assume responsibility for it. However, you may not be required to begin repaying it at that time.
If you temporarily interrupt your full-time or part-time studies, you may postpone the repayment of your student loan.
If you are in a precarious financial situation, you could be eligible to defer repayment of your student loan.
