Today, Aide financière aux études is sending students documents required for their 2011 income tax return (Relevé 1 or T4A tax slip, letter certifying a payment to Aide financière aux études). You will be able to provide these documents if required, when you file your tax return.

  • Confirmation of your financial resources for 2011

Important! You must fill out and send us the Confirmation of Financial Resources for 2011 form no later than February 21, 2012, even if your income has not changed. Otherwise, your financial assistance instalments will be suspended as of March 2012. Please note that you must fill out the form again, even if you filled it out in the fall.

You can update or confirm your financial resources on-line. Simply click on On-Line Access to Your File! under the menu Your On-Line Services. Fill out the Identification section, then click on Full-time forms and Confirmation of Financial Resources.

The form allows you to update or confirm the income you declared for 2011 (from January 1 to December 31). You can access the form any time until you send it.

Remember that you must inform us of any change in your circumstances over the course of the year that might affect the amount of financial assistance awarded to you. By ensuring that your file is up-to-date with accurate information, you will avoid any of a number of inconveniences, such as:

    • Suspension of your financial assistance instalments
    • Obligation to immediately repay a financial assistance overpayment
    • Loss of eligibility under the Loans and Bursaries Program or the Loans Program for Part-Time Studies for a two-year period

  • Payment of Financial Assistance Previously Scheduled for December 28, 2011

Please note that the December 28th financial assistance payment to some students that are recognized as having a major functional disability or to students in the Allowance for Special Needs Program did not go through as planned on that date. Payment will be made by January 10, 2012.

    Thank you for your forbearance.

  • Access to Your Tax Duplicates

Please note that from January 1 to 31, 2012, you will not be able to access the Tax duplicates tab of your on-line student file. This service will be interrupted to enable us to produce the documents required for the 2011 income tax return. The Tax duplicates tab allows you to consult and print, if applicable, duplicates of documents that are required for your income tax return (e.g. Relevé 1 or T4A tax slip or letter certifying a payment to Aide financière aux études).

  • Indexing of some allowable expenses

The amounts that Aide financière aux études recognizes for living expenses have been increased by 2,7% for the 2011-2012 award year. Note that if your application for financial assistance has already been processed, a new assessment will be performed between now and December 2011.

Our Web site has been updated to take into account those new amounts.

  • Erratum - 2011-2012 Application for financial assistance print form

Please note that page 27 of the print copy of the 2011-2012 Application for financial assistance contains an erroneous date. That error only concerns declarations by the father, mother or spouse. The accurate date can be found in the same document on the reverse of the 2011-2012 Appendix A - Student's Dependent Children. Note that the PDF version of the application, which is available under the Print forms section of our Web site, is accurate.

In addition, it is preferable that you file your application via the Internet. The on-line form is adapted to your situation and the information you provide is validated as you go.
